Loan words in the Russian language of the early 21st century: The paradigmatics and syntagmatics

Abstract

Работа посвящена парадигматическому и синтагматическому анализу слов, заимствованных в русский язык в начале XXI в. Заимствованная лексика в исследовании рассматривается как с позиций парадигматики (факторы заимствования, коннотативные и стилистические особенности заимствованных слов), так и с позиций синтагматики (типовая сочетаемость заимствований, их вступление в словообразовательные отношения, пропозиционная роль заимствованной лексики и стяжение синтагматических рядов). Для практического рассмотрения вышеуказанных явлений используются современные тексты из русских средств массовой информации, в том числе газет, а также материалы с Интернет-форумов. Данный выбор источников обусловлен тем, что в них представлено функционирование заимствований в реальной повседневной (в том числе разговорной) речи. В работе предпринята попытка проанализировать реализацию парадигматических и синтагматических отношений, в которые заимствованная лексика вступает в процессе адаптации в языке, и сделать выводы об особенностях функционирования заимствований.

The work is devoted to the paradigmatic and syntagmatic analysis of words borrowed into the Russian language at the beginning of the 21st century. Borrowed vocabulary in the study is considered both from the standpoint of paradigmatics (borrowing factors, connotative and stylistic features of borrowed words), and from the standpoint of syntagmatics (the typical compatibility of borrowings, their entry into word-formation relations, the propositional role of borrowed vocabulary and the tying of syntagmatic series). For practical consideration of the above phenomena, modern texts from the Russian media, including newspapers, as well as materials from Internet forums are used. This choice of sources is due to the fact that they show the functioning of borrowings in real everyday (including colloquial) speech. An attempt is made to analyze the implementation of paradigmatic and syntagmatic relations, in which the borrowed vocabulary enters the process of adaptation in the language, and draw conclusions about the features of the functioning of borrowings.
