Micromosaics. The history of techniques. Problems of restoration and conservation

Abstract

Целью работы является разработка и апробация методики реставрации и консервации микромозаик. Диссертация имеет 3 главы и приложение. В работе анализируются актуальные проблемы и история развития мозаичного искусства. Формулируется термин мозаика. Большое внимание уделяется мозаикам, изготовленным из стекла. Рассматривается техника миллефиори и её история. Изучается история микромозаики. Проводятся исследования состава смальты и мастики. Составляется методика реставрации и консервации. Апробация методики производится на микромозаике рамы зеркала.

The aim of the work are development and approbation of the methods of micromosaics restoration and conservation. The thesis has 3 chapters and an appendix. The work is analyzed the current problems and history of mosaic art development. A mosaic term is formulated. Much attention is given to mosaics made of glass. The technique of millefiori and it’s history are considered. The history of the micromosaic is being studied. Studies of the composition of smalt and mastic are conducted. The technique of restoration and conservation is being written. Approbation of the technique is performed on the micromosaic of the mirror frame.
