Actualization of cultural heritage in monuments of church architecture as illustrated by Hagia Sophia of Constantinople

Abstract

Темой исследования является проблема актуализации культурного наследия Св.Софии Константинопольской. Большое внимание в работе было уделено основным этапам изучения Св. Софии Константинопольской, а также истории преобразования памятников культового зодчества средиземноморского региона, что позволило проанализировать опыт музеефикации храмовой архитектуры и выявить особенности данного процесса. В качестве ведущего выбран системный метод, позволивший выявить и проанализировать сходства и различия культурных форм в авраамических религиях, проследить взаимосвязи, возникающие между историко-культурными, политическими и религиозными процессами. Опираясь на данные современных исследований по вопросам музеефикации, а также на результаты, полученные в ходе обобщения и анализа существующего опыта, удалось выявить наиболее удачные методы актуализации историко-культурного наследия памятников культовой архитектуры, а также стратегии музейной коммуникации, включая принципы построения экспозиции в очерченном круге памятников.

The subject of the study is the problem of actualization of the cultural heritage of Hagia Sophia in Constantinople. Much attention was paid to the main stages of the study of Hagia Sophia in Constantinople, as well as the history of the transformation of monuments of the religious architecture of the Mediterranean region, which allowed to analyze the experience of the museumification of the temples and to reveal the features of this process. The system method was chosen as the leading one, which made it possible to identify and analyze the similarities and differences of cultural forms in the Abrahamic religions, to trace the interrelationships that arise between historical, cultural, political and religious processes. Based on the results of current research in museumification field, as well as the results obtained in the course of the generalization and analysis of existing experience, we were able to identify the most successful methods of actualization of the historical and cultural heritage in religious architecture, as well as the museum's communication strategy, including the principles of exposure within the outlined circle of monuments.
