Formal and informal institutions in the political system of modern Russia: the problem of imbalance

Abstract

This research deals with the role of informal institutions in the political system of modern Russia. The thesis analyzes modern approaches within the institutional theory, treatment of the concept of the institution, as well as institutional dynamics of political regimes. The scientific classifications of informal institutions and their role in relation to the system of formal political institutions are provided extensively. In the final part of the thesis, the author analyzes contemporary Russian domestic policy from an institutional point of view, interaction and coexistence of both formal and informal institutional framework, particularly emphasizing aspects of informal institutionalization of elites.

Данное исследование посвящено роли неформальных институтов в политической системе современной России. В работе анализируются современные подходы внутри институциональной теории, трактовка понятия института, а также институциональная динамика политических режимов. Рассматриваются научные классификации неформальных институтов и их роль применительно к системе формальных политических институтов. В заключительной части работы автор анализирует современную российскую политику с институциональной точки зрения, взаимодействие и сосуществование формальных и неформальных институтов, отдельно подчеркивая аспекты неформальной институционализации элит.
