The "Mir Iskusstva" and "Zolotoe Runo" magazines on exhibition activity

Abstract

Тема выпускной квалификационной работы – «Журналы “Мир искусства” и “Золотое руно” о выставочной деятельности». Данная тема является малоизученной, так как исследователи писали в основном либо об истории объединения «Мир искусства», либо рассматривали только литературную сторону работы двух журналов. Это свойственно и историко-журналистским трудам С.Я. Махониной и Н.А. Богомолова. Специально об оценках выставочной деятельности в этих журналах ранее не писали. Этим и обусловлена новизна выбранной темы. Обращение к проблеме оценки журналистикой выставочной деятельности в условиях зарождения новых веяний в современном искусстве представляется актуальным как в настоящий момент, так и в будущем. Целью данной работы является выявление позиций журналов под руководством С.П. Дягилева и Н.П. Рябушинского в решении вопросов выставочной деятельности. Для достижения поставленной цели: • изучены важнейшие материалы, опубликованные в двух журналах, посвященные оценкам выставок (как в России, так и отчасти за рубежом) с точки зрения целей выставочной деятельности; • рассмотрены соответствующие публикации главных редакторов; • описаны и проанализированы материалы ведущих обозревателей и рецензентов выставок (Н. А. Бенуа, И. Э. Грабарь и др.), прослежена их связь со взглядами главных редакторов. Объектом исследования являются материалы журналов о выставочной деятельности. Предметом исследования стали взгляды двух журналов на цели и задачи выставочной деятельности и ее оценки в обозрениях и рецензиях. Теоретико-методологической базой послужили труды современных российских теоретиков деятельности и историзма. Эмпирической базой стали материалы журналов «Мир искусства» и «Золотое руно», посвященные художественным выставкам. Хронологические рамки данного исследования определяются временем выпуска названных журналов с 1899 по 1909 год. Структура работы состоит из двух глав, введения, заключения и списка литературы.

Theme of thesis – «Magazines "Mir iskusstva" and " Zolotoye runo" about exhibition activities». This theme is supposed to be low explored, as the researchers mainly wrote either about the history of the union «Mir iskusstva», or considered just the literary side of work of these magazines. This is typical for historical and journalistic works of S.Y. Mahonina and N.A. Bogomolov. Nothing was written about estimates of exhibition activity in these magazines. This fact specifies the novelty of the chosen topic. In conditions of development of new trends in modern art it is actual to handle the problem of estimating of exhibition activity in journalism. It is so at present and also will be in the future. The aim of this work is to show up the attitude of «Mir iskusstva» and «Zolotoye runo» to the intentions and objectives of the exhibition activity. To achieve this goal: • the most important materials about exhibitions (which took place in Russia and abroad) published in two journals were examined from the point of the purposes of exhibition activity; • relevant articles of main editors of journals were researched; • a description and analysis of materials of leading columnists and reviewers of exhibitions (N. A. Benua, I. I. Grabar etc.) was given, also there was found a connection between points of view in these materials and opinions of the main editors. Articles about exhibition activity published in both journals ere the object of the research. The research focuses on the views of the two magazines on goals and objectives of the exhibition activity and estimates of it in the articles. Theoretically and methodologically the research bases on the works of contemporary Russian scientists studying activity and historism. The empirical base consists of articles dedicated to art exhibitions published in «Mir iskusstva» and «Zolotoye runo». The chronological borders of this research are determined by the time of release of mentioned magazines – from 1899 to 1909. The structure of the work consists of two chapters, introduction, conclusion and bibliography.
