The territorial differentiation of social and economic development levels in the Ural Federal District

Abstract

Целью исследования “Территориальная дифференциация уровней социально-экономического развития в Уральском федеральном округе” является анализ уровней социально-экономического развития и выявление их территориальной дифференциации в регионах Уральского федерального округа Российской Федерации. Понимание динамики и закономерностей этих региональных различий имеет большое значение для разработки стратегий пространственного развития, схем территориального планирования, принятии управленческих решений в области региональной политики. В исследовании использован комплексный набор данных, включающий различные показатели, сгруппированные по несколько категориям: социально-демографические, природно-территориальные, экономические и социальные. Статистический и сравнительно-географический анализ позволяет определить динамику и современное состояние социально-экономического развития регионов в Уральском федеральном округе. В результате была составлена методика, на основе которой было проведено исследование. Выявлена пространственная дифференциация регионов “север-юг”, обусловленная природно-ресурсными факторами. Определены ключевые социально-экономические факторы, влияющие на общее социально-экономическое развитие.

The purpose of the study "Territorial differentiation of socio-economic development levels in the Ural Federal District" is to analyze the levels of socio-economic development and to identify their territorial differentiation in the regions of the Ural Federal District of the Russian Federation. Understanding the dynamics and patterns of these regional differences is of great importance for the development of spatial development strategies, territorial planning schemes, and managerial decisions in the field of regional policy. The study uses a complex set of data, including various indicators grouped into several categories: socio-demographic, natural-territorial, economic and social. Statistical and comparative-geographical analysis makes it possible to determine the dynamics and the current state of socio-economic development of the regions in the Ural Federal District. As a result, a methodology was compiled, on the basis of which a study to assess the level of socio-economic development of the regions was conducted. The spatial differentiation of "north-south" regions, caused by natural resource factors, was revealed. The key socio-economic factors influencing the general socio-economic development were determined.
