Photography in the Victorian age

Abstract

Актуальность работы состоит в рассмотрении начала разделения фотографии на "прямую" и "сделанную", появления массовой фотографии, метода амбротипии сегодня. Выявлении фотографических явлений, пришедших из XIX века. Объект исследования - фотография викторианской эпохи в Великобритании. Предмет исследования - особенности и характерные черты фотографии на конкретных примерах. Хронологические рамки обусловлены историческим аспектом и охватывают период 1839 - 1901 гг., а также современный процесс амбротипии. Цель дипломной работы - проанализировать значение и визуальный язык фотографии викторианской эпохи, рассмотреть влияние ее на современную фотожурналистику и начало разделения фотографии на два пути ("прямая", "сделанная") Для достижения цели будут выполнены следующие задачи: 1. Изучение становления и развития фотографии; 2. Анализ авторов и тематики; 3. Рассмотрение особенностей фотографии на конкретных примерах (женская тема, фотография в прессе XIX века). Научно-теоретическая база: Бажак К. "История фотографии. Возникновение изображения", Морозов С. А. "Творческая фотография", Джонсон У. "История фотографии с 1839 года до наших дней", Коути К. "Женщины викторианской Англии. От идеала до порока", Cox J. "Julia Margaret Cameron. The Complete Photographers" и другие. Эмпирическая база. Работы Клементины Гаварден и Джулии Маргарет Камерон (женская тема). Выпуски "The Illustrated London News" (1843 г., 1865 г., 1869 г., 1874 г., 1900 г.). Выбор обусловлен их доступностью и наглядностью фотоматериала. Методы исследования: сравнительный и исторический анализ, контент-анализ, экспертное интервью. Структура работы: введение, две главы, заключение, список использованных источников, приложение.

Relevance of the graduation paper consists in attraction to the history of photography, analysis of beginning of the division into pure and staged photography, how photography became mass and amateur, research of the photography phenomenon that has come to the XXI century from the Victorian era, and how ambrotype exists today. Object - photography of the Victorian era in the UK. Subject - singularities and specific features of photography viewed on examples. Chronological frames: 1839 - 1901 and modern period of ambrotype. Aim of the graduation paper is to analyze the meaning and visual language of the Victorian period photography, influence on the modern photojournalism, and beginning of the division into pure (straight) photography and staged photography. In order to reach the aim we will complete following goals: 1. Study of the invitation and evolution of photography; 2. Analysis of the authors and themes; 3. Research of the specific features of photography viewed on examples (Female theme, photography in press of the XIX century). Theoretic basis of the graduation paper: Bajac Q. "The Invitation Of Photography", Morozov S. "Creative Photography", Johnson W. "A History Of Photography. The George Eastman House Collection", Kouti K. "Women of Victorian England. From ideal to vice", Cox J. "Julia Margaret Cameron. The complete photographers" etc. Empirical basis. For the analysis of female theme we have chosen photos by Clementina Hawarden and Julia Margaret Cameron. To present photography in press of the XIX century we have picked several issues of the popular Victorian era newspaper "The Illustrated London News" (1843, 1865, 1869, 1874, 1900). The choice of these issues is led to their availability and representativeness of illustrative material. Methods of research: comparative and historical analysis, content analysis and expert interview. Structure of the graduation paper: introduction, two chapters, conclusion, list of sources, attachment.
