Linguistic expression of subject spheres in Lyudmila Petrushevskaya’s novel "The Time: Night"

Abstract

Данная работа посвящена характеристике особенностей языкового выражения субъектных сфер повести Л. С. Петрушевской «Время ночь». В теоретической части исследования описывается понятие «субъектная сфера» в контексте стилистики, литературоведения и лингвистики, а также обосновывается подход к анализу текста повести через его субъектную организацию. В практической части работы выделяются три субъектные сферы (главной героини — основная, ее дочери и внеповествовательной фигуры — второстепенные) в произведении Петрушевской и проводится их лингвостилистический анализ. По отношению к основной субъектной сфере отдельное внимание уделяется таким языковым явлениям текста, как поток сознания и драматургичность. В ходе анализа делается заключение о том, что субъектные сферы взаимодействуют друг с другом на уровне формы, создавая новые смыслы для читателя, но не влияют на содержательный план друг друга. В результате исследования характеристика языкового выражения субъектных сфер эксплицируется на стиль всей повести.

This work is focused on the characteristics of the linguistic expression of the subject spheres in the novel "The Time: Night" by Lyudmila Petrushevskaya. The theoretical part of the study describes the concept of "subject sphere" in the context of stylistics, literary studies and linguistics, and also substantiates the approach to the analysis of the novel through its subject organization. In the practical part of the work, three subject spheres are distinguished (the main character, her daughters and the non-narrative figure) in Petrushevskaya's novel and their linguostylistic analysis is carried out. In relation to the subject sphere of the main character, particular attention is paid to such linguistic phenomena of the text as the stream of consciousness and dramaturgy. The analysis concludes that the subject spheres interact with each other at the level of form, creating new meanings for the reader, but do not affect each other's content plan. As a result of the study, the characteristics of the linguistic expression of subject spheres are explicated on the style of the novel.
