Personality and creative work of Alexander Grin for the Soviet and post-Soviet reader

Abstract

Исследование посвящено анализу читательской рецепции творческого наследия Александра Грина. В ходе исследования были собраны и проанализированы советские критические статьи, воспоминания и дневниковые записи, связанные с личностью и творчеством писателя. Также были рассмотрены отзывы современных читателей в электронных библиотеках и публикации на странице современного сообщества поклонников Грина. Кроме того, был составлен и проведен опрос среди современных читателей. Его результаты были описаны и проанализированы. На собранном материале были прослежены основные этапы в истории рецепции писателя, выделены характерные для советских и постсоветских читателей особенности восприятия его текстов и обозначены их основные причины: историко-культурный контекст, репрезентация в официальном дискурсе, школьный канон, преемственность. Между советской и современной рецепцией установлены характерные связи.

The current research is devoted to the analysis of the reader's reception of the creative heritage of Alexander Grin. In the course of the research were collected and analyzed Soviet critical articles, memoirs and diary notes related to the personality and creativity of the writer. Also were considered modern readers’ reviews in electronic libraries and publications on the page of the modern community of Grin’s readers. In addition, a survey was made and conducted among modern readers. It’s results were also described and analyzed. Based on the collected material, the main stages in the history of the writer's reception were traced, the peculiarities of the perception of his texts for Soviet and post-Soviet readers were highlighted and their main reasons were identified: historical and cultural context, representation in official discourse, school canon, continuity. Between the Soviet and modern reception some characteristic connections were defined.
