| ru_RU |
dc.description.abstract | Following the collapse of the USSR and the emergence of new independent states, Central Asia, which in the XIX century was the most important object of the geopolitical confrontation of the great powers (the Russian and British Empires), returned to geopolitics. At the same time, the newly independent states themselves have become subjects of geopolitics, independently building a line of foreign policy behavior and fighting for influence in the region and in Eurasia as a whole. Some geopolitical "pullback" of Russia from the region in the 1990s inevitably led to the activation of such major players in this direction, such as the United States, the EU, and China. The Republic of Turkey stands out especially among all countries. Ankara constantly appealed to the "common Turkic roots" and at the same time believed that it could help the countries of Central Asia to supply their products to Europe. Neo-pan-Turkism emerged on the basic principles and the fusion of the ideas of pan-Turkism, pan-Turanism and Turkism. Pan-Turkism can be considered one of the branches of the ideology of pan-Turanism, which implies the common origin of all Turkic peoples on the territory of the "Great Turan". Recently, summits have been held between the Turkic countries at the highest level, which is evidence that the concept of the "Great Turan" is being revived. | en_GB |
