British policy in the Post-Soviet space before and after Brexit

Случай выхода Великобритании стал первым прецедентом в истории существования Европейского союза. Евроскептические настроения долгие годы жили в умах британцев, а в конечном счете отразились в итогах референдума. 31 января 2020 года страна покинула объединение. С этого момента страна стала самостоятельно выстраивать свою внешнеполитическую линию, которая ранее имела серьезную зависимость от Европейского союза. Теперь перед страной открываются новые вызовы и новые возможности. В магистерской ВКР содержится анализ влияния процесса Brexit на внешнюю политику Великобритании, а в частности отношения со странами постсоветского пространства. Автор приходит к следующим выводам. Во-первых, для Соединенного Королевства является важным сохранить своё влияние на международной арене. Поэтому в основу внешней политики страна ставит достижения в экономической и научно-технической сферах, а также в сфере безопасности. Во-вторых, заметно ощущалась роль ЕС в принятии ключевых внешнеполитических и внешнеэкономических решений. Прежде всего, это связано с договорными обязательствами и участием Великобритании в институтах ЕС. В-третьих, участвуя в ОВПБ ЕС, Соединенное королевство всегда стремились выступать лидером и придерживаться стратегии реализации независимой внешней политики. Большее внимание уделялось обязательствам перед США и НАТО. В-четвёртых, процесс Brexit не оказал негативного влияния на отношения со странами постсоветского пространства. Это связано с тем, что страны выстроили двусторонний диалог задолго до того момента, как страна покинула Евросоюз. В-пятых, можно констатировать благоприятное развитие отношений Великобритании с государствами постсоветского пространства (Грузия, Казахстан, Украина), которые будут сосредоточены в сфере экономики, военно-политического сотрудничества и образования.

The case of the UK's exit became the first precedent in the history of the European Union. Eurosceptic spirits have been living in the minds of the British for many years, and eventually reflected in the results of the referendum. On the 31 st of January 2020, the country left the Union. From that moment, the country began to independently build its own foreign policy, which previously had a serious dependence on the European Union. Now the country is facing new challenges and new opportunities. The master's thesis contains an analysis of the impact of the Brexit process on British foreign policy, and in particular relations with Post-Soviet countries. The author comes to the following conclusions. Firstly, it is important for the United Kingdom to maintain its influence in the international scene. Therefore, the country's foreign policy is based on achievements in the economic, scientific and technical spheres, as well as in the field of security. Secondly, the role of the EU in making key foreign policy and foreign economic decisions was really noticeable. First of all, this is due to different agreements and the UK's participation in EU institutions. Thirdly, by participating in the CFSP EU, the United Kingdom has always sought to act as a head and adhere to the strategy of implementing an independent foreign policy. More attention was paid to commitments to the United States and NATO. Fourth, the Brexit process has not had a negative impact on relations with the Post-Soviet countries. This is due to the fact that the countries have built a bilateral dialogue long before the country left the European Union. Finally, we can state the favorable development of the UK's relations with the Post-Soviet states (Georgia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine), which will focus on the economy, military-political cooperation and education.
