Ego-document as a source of studying the linguistic picture of the world: A case study of Dmitry Grigorovich's memoirs "The Ship Retvizan"

Abstract

Настоящая работа посвящена изучению языковой картины мира Д.В. Григоровича на материале его эго-документа «Корабль "Ретвизан"». На сегодняшний день изучение эго-документов является не только актуальным, но также межкультурным и междисциплинарным явлением. Множество ученых начинают исследовать источники, содержащие следы жизненного опыта, через их лингвокультурные особенности. Основополагающим здесь понятием становится понятие о языковой картине мира. Повествовательная манера письма Д.В. Григоровича, многоплановость его творческой личности, а также собственно-специфический взгляд на мир позволяют проанализировать его языковую картину мира для лучшего понимания авторского сознания, его ценностных ориентаций и языковых приоритетов. Обращение к малоизвестным и неоконченным воспоминаниям Д.В. Григоровича «Корабль "Ретвизан"» позволит расширить сферу применения эго-документов, уточнить их значимость, а также выявить языковую картину мира, описываемую автором. Все вышесказанное определяет актуальность и новизну исследуемой темы. В ходе работы была изучена научно-лингвистическая литература по исследуемой теме, а также выявлены и рассмотрены актуальные для исследования составляющие языковой картины мира Д.В. Григоровича. Однако представленное исследование не решает полностью обозначенной проблемы. Дальнейшая работа по изучению языковой картины мира может быть продолжена на материале других произведений Д.В. Григоровича и ориентирована на поиск иных языковых составляющих языковой картины мира, не включенных в данное исследование (например, функционирование в текстах имен-концептов).

The present work is devoted to the study of D.V. Grigorovich's linguistic picture of the world based on the material of his ego-document "The Retvizan Ship". Today, the study of ego-documents is not only relevant, but also an intercultural and interdisciplinary phenomenon. Many scientists are beginning to investigate sources containing traces of life experience through their linguistic and cultural features. The fundamental concept here is the concept of the linguistic picture of the world. D.V. Grigorovich's narrative style of writing, the diversity of his creative personality, as well as his own-specific view of the world allow us to analyze his linguistic picture of the world for a better understanding of the author's consciousness, his value orientations and language priorities. The appeal to the little-known and unfinished memoirs of D.V. Grigorovich "The Retvizan Ship" will expand the scope of application of ego documents, clarify their significance, and also reveal the linguistic picture of the world described by the author. All of the above determines the relevance and novelty of the topic under study. In the course of the work, the scientific and linguistic literature on the topic under study was studied, as well as the components of D.V. Grigorovich's linguistic worldview relevant for research were identified and considered. However, the presented study does not completely solve the indicated problem. Further work on the study of the linguistic picture of the world can be continued on the material of other works by D.V. Grigorovich and is focused on the search for other linguistic components of the linguistic picture of the world that are not included in this study (for example, the functioning of concept names in texts).
