Technical and linguistic features of humor translation

Abstract

В данной работе мы исследуем перевод стендап-комедии в рамках общей теории вербального юмора. Теоретическая часть работы посвящена изучению реализации функций юмора в стендап-комедии, а также особенностям её структуры и возникновению комического эффекта. В практической части мы осуществляем предпереводческий анализ корпуса и затем анализируем лингвистические особенности перевода в рамках технических ограничений к субтитрам.

In our study we explore the translation of stand-up comedy within the framework of the general theory of verbal humour. The theoretical part of the paper focuses on the realization of humour functions in stand-up comedy, as well as the peculiarities of its structure and the emergence of comic effect. In the practical part, we carry out a pre-translation analysis of the corpus and then analyse the linguistic features of the translation within the technical limitations of the subtitles.
