Ethnonym as a presenter of cultural stereotype (a case study of Russian literature and folklore)

Abstract

На материале русской литературы и фольклора ХIХ века в выпускной квалификационной работе рассматриваются особенности функционирования этнонимов немец и татарин и их производных (немочка, немчура, немецкий и др..; татарчонок, татарва, татарский и др.), выступающих в качестве лексических презентаторов немецкого и татарского культурных стереотипов. Акцентируется внимание на особенностях выражения культурной (национальной, символической) семантики этнонимов в их деривационной продуктивности. Формулируются оценочный и констатирующий компоненты рассматриваемых культурных стереотипов, имеющих вербальное воплощение, прежде всего, на уровне лексики и синтаксиса. Предпринимается попытка сравнить характеристики рассматриваемых стереотипов в устных и письменных текстах. Делается вывод о влиянии историко-культурного контекста и индивидуально-авторского восприятия на полноту / спецификацию содержания этих стереотипов в конкретном тексте.

Based on the material of Russian literature and folklore of the nineteenth century, the graduation work examines the features of the functioning of the ethnonyms Nemets (a German) and Tatarin (a Tatar) and their derivatives (nemochka, nemchura, nemetsky, etc.; tatarchonok, tatarva, tatarsky, etc.), acting as lexical presenters of German and Tatar cultural stereotypes. The graduation work centers on the features of the expression of the cultural (national, symbolic) semantics of ethnonyms in their derivational productivity. The author formulates evaluative and ascertaining components of the cultural stereotypes under study, which has a verbal embodiment, primarily at the level of vocabulary and syntax. An attempt is made to compare the characteristics of the considered stereotypes in oral and written texts. The conclusion is made about the influence of the historical and cultural context and individual author's perception on the completeness / specification of the content of these stereotypes in a particular text.
