Factors of Financial Insolvency of Russian Companies: Analysis of the Engineering Industry

Abstract

Тема выпускной квалификационной работы: «Факторы финансовой несостоятельности российских компаний: анализ машиностроительной отрасли». Настоящая выпускная квалификационная работа выполнена в формате эмперического исследования. Целью работы являлось определение наиболее важных факторов финансовой несостоятельности предприятий машиностроительной отрасли РФ. Для достижения поставленной цели были проанализированы исследования по данной тематике, сформулированы исследовательские вопросы, выбраны показатели и собраны данные для проведения исследования, построены модели логистической регрессии и проанализированы получившиеся результаты, на основе которых делались соответствующие выводы. Актуальность данного исследования связана с неуменьшающимся количеством банкротств в отрасли машиностроения и отсутствие достаточного количества российских исследований, изучающих факторы финансовой несостоятельности предприятий машиностроения. Объектом исследования являются предприятия отрасли машиностроения различных размеров и организационно-правовых форм. Предметом исследования являются факторы финансовой несостоятельности предприятий отрасли машиностроения. В процессе исследования рассматривались макроэкономические, внутриотраслевые и финансовые показатели. Эконометрический анализ позволил определить наличие взаимосвязей между рядом факторов и вероятностью наступления финансовой несостоятельности. Был сделан вывод о большей значимости финансовых показателей, так как на основе анализа предельных эффектов было выявлено, что они вносят больший вклад в вероятность введения процедуры наблюдения на предприятиях отрасли машиностроения. Также были ввыделены наиболее важные факторы в разрезе размеров предприятий. Таким образом, все заинтересованные стороны будут понимать, на какие из факторов следует в первую очередь обращать внимание, чтобы предотвратить наступление потенциальных финансовых проблем организации и вследствие этого введения наблюдения как первого этапа процедуры банкротства. Это позволит снизить риск наступления финансовой несостоятельности для предприятий машиностроительной отрасли.

The title of the thesis: «Factors of Financial Insolvency of Russian Companies: Analysis of the Engineering Industry» This thesis is carried out in the format of an empirical study. The purpose of the work is to determine the most important factors of financial insolvency of enterprises of the engineering industry of the Russian Federation. To achieve this goal, studies on this topic were analyzed, research questions were formulated, indicators were selected and data were collected for the study, logistic regression models were built and the results were analyzed, on the basis of which appropriate conclusions were drawn. The relevance of this study is associated with the non - diminishing number of bankruptcies in the engineering industry and the absence of a large number of Russian studies, that study the factors of financial insolvency of engineering enterprises. The object of the study is the enterprises of the engineering industry of various sizes and organizational and legal forms. The subject of the study is the factors of financial insolvency of enterprises in the engineering industry. In the course of the study, macroeconomic, intra-industry and financial indicators were considered. Econometric analysis allowed to determine the existence of relationships between a number of factors and the likelihood of financial insolvency. Based on the analysis of marginal effects, it was concluded that financial indicators are more important. It was revealed that they make a greater contribution to the likelihood of introducing a monitoring procedure at enterprises in the engineering industry. The most important factors were identified for each size of enterprises. Thus, all interested parties will understand which of the factors should first be paid attention to in order to prevent the onset of potential financial problems of the organization and, as a result, the introduction of supervision as the first stage of the bankruptcy procedure. This will reduce the risk of financial insolvency for the enterprises of the engineering industry.
