Verbal representation on the ideal world arrangement: A case study of proverbs from Peter the Great's era

Abstract

Пословицы отражают историю, культурно-нравственные ценности народа и его мировоззрение. Данная выпускная квалификационная работа посвящена рассмотрению языковых особенностей пословиц Петровской эпохи. В качестве материала исследования послужил сборник пословиц «Петровская галерея: перспектива и ретроспектива». Объектом данного исследования принят язык пословиц, предметом – лингвистическая реализация представлений об идеальном мировоззрении в них. Целью является анализ отражений ценностных ориентиров в пословицах Петровской эпохи. В работе дается обобщенная характеристика пословиц, отмечается их жанровое отличие от поговорок. Для выявления оценок и ценностных ориентиров в работе применяется понятие паремиологической картины мира. Основное содержание исследования составляет анализ паремий, их организация, согласно иерархической координате ценностей. В работе выделены следующие лингвистические механизмы построения идеальной картины мира: предложения с императивной модальностью, синонимические ряды, игра слов, игра значениями слов, стилевые коннотации, использование суффиксов субъективной оценки.

Proverbs reflect the history, cultural and moral values of the people and their worldview. This graduate qualification work is devoted to the consideration of linguistic features of proverbs of Peter the Great’s era. The collection of proverbs "Peter's Gallery: perspective and retrospective" served as the material for the study. The object of this study is the language of proverbs, the subject is the linguistic implementation of ideas about the ideal worldview in them. The aim is to analyze the reflection of values in the proverbs of Peter the Great epoch. The work gives a generalized characteristic of proverbs, notes their genre difference from smaller genres of folklore. In order to identify assessments and values, the work applies the concept of paremiological picture of the world. The main content of the study is the analysis of proverbs, their organization, according to the hierarchical coordinate of values. The work highlights the following linguistic mechanisms of constructing an ideal picture of the world as sentences with imperative modality, synonymic series, wordplay, play with the meanings of words, style connotations, the use of suffixes of subjective evaluation.
