People and war: Psychological profiles of the characters in "The Scorched Earth" by Ahmad Mahmoud

Abstract

Данная ВКР посвящена изучению романа Ахмада Махмуда "Выжженная земля", который был опубликован в 1982 году и который посвящён первым месяцам ирано-иракской войны. В этом романе писатель даёт реалистичную, правдоподобную картину жизни в прифронтовом городе и исследует, как война влияет на взаимоотношения людей и характер человека. Кроме того, в работе содержится краткий обзор проблемы литературы об ирано-иракской войне.

This paper examines Ahmad Mahmud's novel "The Scorched Earth", which was published in 1982 and which is dedicated to the first months of the Iran-Iraq war. In this novel, the writer gives a realistic picture of life in a front-line city and explores how war affects human relationships and human character. In addition, this paper describes the general situation within the literature descriding the Iran-Iraq war.
