Approaches to assessment of digital projects

Abstract

На современном этапе развития экономики все больше предприятий начинают преобразовывать и совершенствовать традиционные бизнес-процессы, внедряя современные цифровые технологии. Процесс внедрения цифровых технологий требует от компании финансовых вложений. Прежде чем, принять решение об инвестициях компаниям необходимо провести оценку инвестиционного проекта, в случае с внедрением цифровых технологий - оценку цифрового проекта. Актуальность темы исследования состоит в том, что многие предприятия сталкиваются с необходимостью оценки своих инвестиций в цифровые технологии, то есть цифровых проектов. Цель данной дипломной работы - исследовать характеристики и методы оценки цифровых проектов. Задачи, которые были поставлены в рамках дипломной работы: 1.Рассмотреть место цифровых проектов в процессах цифровой трансформации. 2.Определить характеристики и факторы реализации цифровых проектов. 3.Определить нефинансовые и финансовые результаты цифровых проектов. 4.Определить особенности оценки цифровых инвестиций. 5. Провести оценку цифрового проекта на примере компании Digital Shop. 6. Сравнить цифровую бизнес-модель компания Digital Shop с традиционной бизнес-моделью. Структура дипломной работы: Дипломная работы состоит из 3 глав. Первая глава дипломной работы посвящена определению места цифровых проектов в процессах цифровой трансформации. В данной главе определяются следующие понятия: оцифровка, цифровизация, цифровая трансформация, цифровые проекты, цифровые активы, а также определяются факторы, влияющие на процесс реализации цифровых проектов. Во второй главе рассматривается методология оценки цифровых проектов. В третьей главе проводится оценка цифрового проекта на примере компании Digital Shop. Результаты исследования: 1. Были определены следующие термины: оцифровка, цифровизация, цифровая трансформация. 2. Определен термин цифровые активы и выявлены основные виды цифровых активов. 3. Определен термин цифровые проекты и выявлены особенности реализации цифровых проектов. 4. Определены факторы, влияющие на процесс реализации цифровых проектов. 5. Определена классификация инвестиций в цифровые проекты. 6. Проанализированы и выявлены основные нефинансовые и финансовые показатели реализации цифровых проектов в логистике, маркетинге, финансах и производстве. 7. Выявлены методы оценки цифровых проектов. 8. Проведена оценка цифрового проекта на примере компании Digital shop. Выводы: 1. Реализация цифрового проекта связана с высокой степенью неопределенностью и риском, которые возникают в связи с тем, что на успех реализации цифрового проекта влияет большое количество факторов. 2. Особенностью реализации цифрового проекта является разделение проекта на две части: пилотный проект и основной проект цифровой трансформации. 3. Особенность оценки – для того чтобы в расчетах учесть высокий риск и неопределенность реализации цифрового проекта необходимо при расчете NPV применять концепцию реальных опционов. 4. При реализации цифрового проекта важно оценивать нефинансовые результаты реализации цифрового проекта, которые впоследствии отразятся на финансовых результатах (сокращение затрат или увеличение выручки).

At the present stage of economic development, many enterprises are known to have transformed and improved their traditional business processes by implementing modern digital technologies. it is worth noting that, this tendency appears to be spreading among more and more new enterprises all over the world. The process of implementing digital technologies requires financial investments from the companies. Before making a decision on investments, companies need to evaluate the investment in project, in the case of the implementing of digital technologies - evaluate the digital project. The relevance of the research topic is that more and more enterprises are faced with the need to evaluate their investment in digital technology, that is, digital projects. The propose of this research is to investigate the characteristics and methods of evaluating digital projects. The objective of this research: 1. To identify the place of digital projects in the processes of digital transformation. 2. To determine the characteristics and factors of the implementation of digital projects. 3. Identify non-financial and financial results of digital projects. 4. Identify the features of digital investment valuation. 5. Evaluate a digital project using Digital Shop as an example. 6. Compare the digital business model of Digital Shop with the traditional business model. The structure of this research: The research consists of three chapters. The first Chapter is devoted to determination of the place of digital projects in the processes of digital transformation. It discusses the definition of the following terms: digitization, digitalization, digital transformation, digital projects, digitals assets. Also, characteristics and factors of realising of digital projects are considered in this chapter. The second Chapter relates to digital project evaluation methodology. The third Chapter is devoted to Digital project evaluation by the example of digital shop company. The results of this research: 1. Defined the digitization, digitalization, digital transformation 2. Defined and identified the main types of digital assets. 3. Defined and highlighted the features of digital projects. 4. Identified factors affecting the process of implementing digital projects. 5. Identified the classification of investments in digital projects. 6. Conducted analysis of financial and non-financial results of digital projects. 7. Identified methods for evaluating digital projects. 8. Evaluated a digital project using the example of Digital shop company. The main conclusion of this research: 1. The implementation of a digital project is associated with a high degree of uncertainty and risk arising from the fact that the success of a digital project is influenced by a large number of factors. 2. One of the characteristics of the digital project implementation is the division of the project into two parts: a pilot project and the main digital transformation project. 3. The evaluation feature is that in order to take into account the high risk and uncertainty of the digital project implementation in calculations, it is necessary to use the concept of real options when calculating NPV. 4. When implementing a digital project, it is important to evaluate the non-financial results of the digital project, which will subsequently affect the financial results (cost reduction or revenue increase).
