Usage of expressive means in business communication (in English)

Abstract

Целью выпускной квалификационной работы является выявление и комплексный анализ особенностей функционирования экспрессивных средств языка в деловой коммуникации на материалах английского языка. В рамках исследования было проанализировано понятие «деловая коммуникация», определены ее формы и виды. Также было дано определение понятию «экспрессивность», определена его природа и соотношение с понятием «эмоциональность». Были изучены и охарактеризованы синтаксические и лексические средства языка, изучены особенности их функционирования на материалах устных публичных выступлений политических деятелей США и Великобритании. Методологической основой выпускной квалификационной работы послужили такие методы исследования, как: метод сплошной выборки англоязычных единиц (в текстах устных выступлений политических деятелей), метод сравнительно-сопоставительного анализа, переводческий анализ, а также метод прагмалингвистического наблюдения. Зачастую именно использование экспрессивных средств языка в своей речи позволяют оратору воздействовать на аудиторию необходимым ему образом. Автор приводит статистику выявленных экспрессивных средств, дает их краткую характеристику и отмечает, что к числу наиболее частоупотребляемых относятся: метафоры, эпитеты, связующие элементы и повторы.

The purpose of the final qualifying work is to identify and comprehensively analyze the functioning of expressive means in business communication. The study analyzes the concept of "business communication", with its forms and types being determined. A definition of the concept of "expressiveness" was given, its nature and correlation with the concept of "emotionality" were determined. The syntactic and lexical means of the language were studied and characterized; their functioning were studied on the materials of public speeches of political figures from the USA and Great Britain.The syntactic and lexical means of the language were studied and characterized, the peculiarities of their functioning were studied on the materials of oral public speeches of political figures of the USA and Great Britain. The methodological basis of the final qualifying work was such research methods as: the method of continuous sampling of English-speaking units (in the texts of oral speeches of politicians), the method of comparative analysis, translation analysis, as well as the method of pragmalinguistic observation. Often it is the use of expressive means in speech that allows the speaker to influence the audience in the way he needs. The author gives statistics of the revealed expressive means, gives a brief description of them and notices that the most frequently used are: metaphors, epithets, connecting elements and repetitions.
