The stereotype of a modest person in Russian cultural-linguistic worldview (in comparison with Chinese cultural-linguistic worldview)

Abstract

Магистерская диссертация посвящена рассмотрению стереотипного представления о скромном человеке в русской культурно-языковой картине мира на фоне аналогичного представления в китайской. В работе представлены тематическая и аксиологическая классификации результатов анализа дискурсивного языкового материала национальных корпусов двух языков и проведенного ассоциативного эксперимента; проанализированы дефиниции прилагательного «скромный» в разных толковых словарях русского языка и его аналога в китайских лексикографических источниках; проведен анализ стереотипного представления о скромном человеке в русском языковом сознании на фоне китайского. Детальному анализу подвергнуты самые объемные тематические группы языковых единиц – описывающих черты характера и поведения скромного человека. Выявлена национально-культурная специфика стереотипного представления о скромном человеке в русском языковом сознании на фоне китайского.

Master's thesis is devoted to the stereotypical representation of a modest man in the Russian cultural and linguistic picture of the world against the background of a similar representation in the Chinese. The research presents the thematic and axiological classification of the results of the analysis of the discursive linguistic material of the national corpus of the two languages and the conducted associative experiment; the definitions of the adjective "modest" in different explanatory dictionaries of the Russian language and its analogue in Chinese lexicographical sources are analyzed; the analysis of the stereotypes about a modest man in Russian language consciousness against the Chinese background is conducted. The largest thematic groups of language units describing the traits of a modest person's character and behavior have been analyzed in detail. The author reveals national and cultural specificity of stereotypes about a modest man in Russian and Chinese languages.
