Semantics and functioning of the terms "obucheniye" and "prepodavaniye" in early 21st century pedagogical literature

Abstract

В выпускной квалификационной работе рассматриваются семантика и функционирование терминов «обучение» и «преподавание» в российской педагогической литераутре начала XXI века. Разработана методология анализа близких, но не тождественных терминов, использующая слова-маркеры их значений и сравнение их значений с определениями соответствующих понятий. На основе анализа делается вывод о том, что единое понимание научного понятия «обучение» в российской педагогике отсутствует. Ведущие специалисты в российской педагогике дают этому понятию разные определения, но при этом употребляют термин «обучение», главным образом, в традиционном значении как деятельность учителя. Понятие «преподавание» связано с теоретическми аспектами учебного материала, понятие "обучение" с теоретическми и с практическими.

This thesis examines the semantics and the functioning of the terms «obucheniye» and «prepodavaniye» in the Russian pedagogical literature of the early 21st century. The thesis applies a new method that identifies «slovo-marker» (marker word that signals the meaning of the adjacent term) in the literature, and compares the actual meaning of the terms with the known definitions made by the leading specialists of Russian pedagogy. While the definitions of the term «obucheniye» vary, it is used similarly in practice as «prepodavaniye» in that the teacher is considered the subject of the action. However, «obucheniye» is not an exact synonym to «prepodavaniye» as the former is associated with both the theoretical and practical aspects of educational material, while the latter is restricted to the theoretical aspect.
