Media framing as a technology for legitimising political decisions: A case study of "The Crimean spring" coverage in the federal Russian mass media

Тема работы: «Медиафрейминг как технология легитимации политических решений (на примере освещения событий "Крымской весны" в федеральных российских средствах массовой информации)» Выпускная квалификационная работа состоит из введения, двух глав, заключения, списка использованной литературы и двадцати приложений. Цель исследования состоит в выявлении особенностей применения технологии медиафрейминга российскими федеральными СМИ в процессе легитимации Крымского референдума. Для достижения цели в первой главе были представлены теоретические основы исследования. Проанализированы наиболее влиятельные концепции легитимности. Исследованы особенности политической коммуникации, установлено значение СМИ для легитимации власти. Рассмотрена сущность феномена медиафрейминга. Во второй главе представлены результаты эмпирического исследования. Указаны особенности фрейм-аналитического подхода к исследованию медиадискурса. Раскрыто содержание обнаруженных фреймов, произведена их классификация. Проанализирована динамика фреймирования. В заключении приведены выводы исследования.

Graduation thesis topic: Media Framing as a technology for the legitimation of political decisions (on the example of coverage of the events of the "Crimean Spring" in the Federal Russian media). The final qualifying work consists of an introduction, two chapters, a conclusion, a bibliography, and twenty annexes. The purpose of the study is to identify the features of the mediaframing technology used by the Russian federal media in the process of legitimation of the Crimean referendum. To achieve this goal, the first chapter presented the theoretical foundations of the study. The most influential concepts of legitimacy are analyzed. The features of political communication have been investigated, the importance of the media for the legitimization of power has been established. The essence of the phenomenon of mediaframing is considered. The second chapter presents the results of empirical research. The features of the frame-analytical approach to the study of media discourse are indicated. The content of the detected frames is disclosed, their classification is made. The dynamics of framing are analyzed. In the conclusion, the conclusions of the study are presented.
