The demographic development of the European countries in the second half of the 20th - early 21st centuries

Abstract

Европа - крупный регион с населением около 600 млн. чел. Государства Европы занимают особое место на демографической карте мира. Демографические процессы, происходящие в Европе, во многом отличаются от многих других регионов мира. Именно с европейских стран в конце 19-го века начался демографический переход, который продолжается до сих пор. В работе рассмотрены теоретико-методологические аспекты демографии как науки, её объект, предмет и методы. Также был изучен процесс демографического перехода, его основные составляющие и характеристики. Рассмотрены различные методики проведения демографической типологии с использованием математических методов и балльной оценки. Была изучена динамика факторов демографического развития стран Европы с 1960 по 2020 гг. по трём временным отрезкам: 1960, 1990 и 2020 гг. Рассмотрена динамика численности и прироста населения, половозрастная структура населения, общий и суммарный коэффициенты рождаемости, показатели смертности, в том числе и младенческой, естественный прирост и ожидаемая продолжительность жизни. Проанализирована динамика миграционного прироста и данных о накопленной миграции. При помощи методов кластерного анализа и балльной оценки проведена типологизация стран Европы на основе данных о динамике демографического развития с 1960 года и на основе показателей 2020 года. Дана оценка прогноза развития полученных кластеров и стран Европы до 2050 года.

Europe is a large region with a population of about 600 million people. The states of Europe occupy a special place on the demographic map of the world. The demographic processes taking place in Europe differ in many ways from many other regions of the world. From the European countries at the end of the 19th century that the process demographic transition began, and continues to this day. The paper considers the theoretical and methodological aspects of demography as a science, its object, subject and methods. The process of demographic transition, its main components and characteristics were also studied. Various methods of conducting demographic typology using mathematical methods and scoring are considered. The dynamics of the factors of demographic development of European countries from 1960 to 2020 was studied in three time periods: 1960, 1990 and 2020. The dynamics of the number and growth of the population, the gender and age structure of the population, the total and total birth rates, mortality rates, including infant mortality, natural growth and life expectancy are considered. The dynamics of migration growth and data on accumulated migration are analyzed. Using the methods of cluster analysis and point estimation, the typologization of European countries was carried out on the basis of data on the dynamics of demographic development since 1960 and on the basis of indicators of 2020. The assessment of the forecast of the development of the obtained clusters and European countries until 2050 is given.
