Cognitive-pragmatic aspects of American pre-election discourse

Abstract

Настоящая магистерская диссертация содержит 79 страниц и включает введение, 2 главы – теоретическую и исследовательскую, выводы по главам, заключение и список использованной литературы, в который вошли 38 источников. Во введении сформулирована актуальность темы исследования, степень научной разработанности проблемы, объект, предмет, цель и задачи исследования, а также методы и материалы, использованные в ходе исследования. Цель исследования заключается в анализе американского предвыборного дискурса на предмет когнитивных и прагматических особенностей. Объектом настоящего диссертационного исследования является предвыборный дискурс Соединённых Штатов Америки. Предметом исследования выступают когнитивно-прагматические особенности американского предвыборного дискурса. Материалом для исследования послужил транскрипт финальных предвыборных дебатов между кандидатами на пост президента США в 2016 году – Дональдом Трампом и Хиллари Клинтон. Научная новизна работы заключается в выявлении когнитивно-прагматических особенностей предвыборного дискурса в США и обнаружении лексических единиц, участвующих в формировании политической картины в сознании американского народа. В первой главе диссертационного исследования были изучены труды таких учёных как А. Греймас, П. Серио, Дж. Лакофф и С. Джонсон, Дж. Остин, Дж. Сёрль, Н.Д. Арутюнова, Е.И. Шейгал, В.Л. Бенуа и многих других. Рассмотрены такие понятия, как дискурс, политический дискурс и одно из его направлений – предвыборный дискурс. Далее представлена теоретическая основа исследования по вопросу когнитивной лингвистики и прагмалингвистики, их особенностей и инструментов реализации таковых в дискурсе. Вторая глава работы посвящена анализу речи Дональда Трампа и Хиллари Клинтон в финальных предвыборных дебатах 2016 года в США. Также, в конце исследования представлены сводные таблицы данных, полученных в результате проведённого анализа.

This master's thesis contains 79 pages and includes an introduction, 2 chapters - theoretical and research, conclusions on chapters, an overall conclusion and a list of used literature, which includes 38 sources. The introduction formulates the relevance of the research topic, the degree of scientific elaboration of the problem, the object, subject, purpose and objectives of the research, as well as the methods and materials used in the course of the research. The aim of the research is to analyze the American electoral discourse in terms of cognitive and pragmatic characteristics. The object of this dissertation research is the election discourse of the United States of America. The subject of the research is the cognitive and pragmatic features of the American pre-election discourse. The material for the study was a transcript of the final election debate between the candidates for the presidency of the United States in 2016 - Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the identification of the cognitive and pragmatic features of the pre-election discourse in the United States and the detection of lexical units involved in the formation of the political picture in the minds of the American people. The first chapter of the dissertation research presents a study of the works of such scientists as A. Greimas, P. Serio, J. Lakoff and S. Johnson, J. Austin, J. Searle, N.D. Arutyunova, E.I. Sheigal, V.L. Benoit and many others. The article considers such concepts as discourse, political discourse and one of its directions - pre-election discourse. Hereinafter, there is a theoretical basis for research on cognitive linguistics and pragmalinguistics, their features and tools for their implementation in discourse. The second chapter of the work is devoted to the analysis of the speeches of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in the final election debates in 2016 in the United States. In addition, at the end of the study, summary tables of the data obtained as a result of the analysis are presented.
