Discursive features when displaying the theme of the global financial / economic crisis on the example of public speaking

Abstract

В настоящее время экономический дискурс является мощным инструментом воздействия на людей и характеризуется всеобъемлющим охватом человеческой жизнедеятельности. Поскольку данный тип дискурса остается одним из наименее изученных, исследование и выделение его особенностей позволит нам определить с помощью каких средств адресант может влиять на аудиторию, формировать ее мнение, призывать к чему-либо и т.д. Цель данной работы заключается в определении дискурсных особенностей при освещении темы мирового экономического кризиса на примере публичных выступлений, являющихся методами саморепрезентации политических лидеров. Для достижения этой цели поставлены следующие задачи: определить основные концепции дискурса; изучить специфику экономического дискурса; выявить основные признаки, черты и специфику экономического дискурса и определить его отличия от других видов дискурса; проанализировать средства, используемые в риторике политических лидеров, на примере речей Д. Трампа, В. Путина и Б. Джонсона; выделить характерные дискурсные особенности в речи каждого спикера. Исследование состоит из введения, двух глав, выводов к каждой главе, заключения и списка литературы. Теоретическая глава посвящена понятию дискурса, особенностям экономического дискурса и речевым приемам, характерным для него. В практической главе представлен анализ выступлений Д. Трампа, Б. Джонсона и В. Путина, выделены основные особенности и отмечены главные отличия в выступлениях каждого главы государства.

Nowadays economic discourse is a powerful tool for influencing people and it is characterized by comprehensive coverage of human life activity. Since this type of discourse remains one of the least studied, the research and highlighting of its features will allow us to determine the means by which the speaker can influence the audience, form its opinion, call for something etc. The aim of this paper is to determine the discursive features when displaying the theme of the global economic crisis on the example of public speaking, which are considered to be methods of self-presentation of political leaders. In order to achieve this goal, the following tasks are resolved: to determine the basic concepts of discourse; to study the particularity of economic discourse; to identify the main features and specificity of economic discourse and determine its differences from other types of discourse; to analyze the means used in the rhetoric of political leaders, using the example of speeches of D. Trump, V. Putin and B. Johnson; to identify distinctive discursive features in the speech of each speaker. The thesis includes an introduction, two chapters, conclusions for each chapter, a conclusion and a list of references. The theoretical chapter is devoted to the concept of discourse, peculiarities of economic discourse and speech techniques which are typical for it. The practical chapter provides an analysis of the speeches of D. Trump, B. Johnson and V. Putin's speeches, highlighting the main features and noting the main differences in the speeches of each head of state.
