The poetics of André Aciman’s novels

Abstract

Предметом исследования являются особенности поэтики трех романов Андре Асимана («Call Me by Your Name» – «Назови меня своим именем» (2007), «Eight White Nights» – «Восемь белых ночей» (2010), «Find Me» – «Найди меня» (2019)). Анализ романов писателя составляет важный фактор в формировании представления о современном писателе и его художественных произведениях в российском литературоведении. Авторский стиль, выражающийся в интернациональности, обращении к традиции модернизма и в жанровых модификациях романной прозы представляют особый интерес в изучении поэтики романов А. Асимана. Анализ произведений А. Асимана предполагал изучение классических и современных теорий формирования жанровой специфики, традиции модернизма, проблематики романной прозы, эротизма и интермедиальности. В качестве вспомогательного иллюстрационного материала в тексте исследования сформированы таблицы с примерами. Диссертационная работа состоит из введения, двух глав и заключения. Первая глава посвящена биографическим и библиографическим сведениям о писателе, жанру романов, связи автора с традицией модернизма, а также авторской переориентации европейского модернистского романа. Во второй главе исследования были определены такие специфические черты романной прозы А. Асимана, как проблематика романов (национальности, семьи и самоидентификации героя-повествователя), чувственность и эротизм, интермедиальность в литературных произведениях писателя. В заключении подведены итоги настоящей диссертационной работы.

The object of the present research is the peculiarities of the poetics of three novels by André Aciman («Call me by your name» (2007), «Eight White Nights» (2010), «Find Me» (2019)). The analysis of the writer's novels is an important factor in the formation of ideas about the modern writer and his works of fiction in Russian literary criticism. The author's literary style, expressed in internationality, an appeal to the tradition of modernism and genre modifications of the novels, represents a particular interest in the research of the poetics of A. Aciman's novels. The analysis of A. Aciman's works involved the study of classical and modern theories of the formation of the genre peculiarities, the tradition of modernism, the problematics of novels, the eroticism and the intermediality. The tables with examples are formed in the text as an auxiliary illustrative material of the research. The dissertation work contains an introduction, two section divided into paragraphs and a conclusion. The first section is devoted to the biographical and bibliographic information about the writer, the genre of novels, the author's connection with the tradition of modernism, as well as the author's reorientation of the European modernist novel. In the second section of the research specific features of A. Aciman's novels were identified, such as the problematics of novels (nationality, family and self-identification of a character-narrator), the sensuality and the eroticism, the intermediality in the writer's literary works. In the conclusion, the results of this dissertation work are summed up.
