Interpretation of mediatext using comparison-contrast analysis (a case study of English / Russian examples)

Abstract

Цель настоящей выпускной квалификационной работы: выявить способы интерпретации медиатекста на примере англоязычных и русских СМИ, используя контрастивно-сопоставительный анализ. Первая глава посвящена теоретическому обзору литературы по теме дипломной работы. Особое внимание в главе уделяется определению понятия “медиатекст”, особенностям интерпретации медиатекста и описанию контрастивно-сопоставительного анализа. Вторая глава посвящена рассмотрению эффективности способов интерпретации медиатекста с английского на русский язык / распространенности приемов интерпретации медиатекста. Как показал анализ, англоязычные и русскоязычные тексты имеют много общего. Были выявлены фразы, которые при переводе имеют полностью одинаковое значение в двух языках. Иногда автор использует прямой перевод. Однако, этот способ не всегда возможен, потому что не всегда может верно передать смысл. Существуют выражения, являющиеся нормой для читателей одного языка. Поэтому прямой перевод в этом случае не подходит. Информативные функции заголовков статей в русском и английском языке похожи. В разных языках выражает объективную сторону происходящего.

The purpose of this final qualifying paper is to identify ways of interpreting a media text using the examples of English-speaking and Russian media, adopting a contrastive and comparative analysis. The first chapter is devoted to a theoretical review of the literature on the topic of the thesis. Particular attention in the chapter is paid to the definition of the concept of "media text", the peculiarities of the interpretation of the media text and the description of the contrastive-comparative analysis. The second chapter is devoted to the consideration of the effectiveness of the methods of interpreting the media text from English into Russian and prevalence of the methods of interpreting the media text. Analysis has shown that English and Russian texts have much in common. Phrases were identified that, when translated, have completely the same meaning in two languages. Sometimes the author uses a direct translation. However, this method is not always possible, because it cannot always convey the meaning correctly. There are expressions that are the norm for readers of one language. Therefore, direct translation is not suitable in this case. The informative functions of article titles in Russian and English are similar. In different languages, they express the objective side of what is happening.
