Analysis of collaboration platforms and tools in virtual classrooms

Abstract

Целью исследования в рамках ВКР является выявление уровня использования и потребности студентов и преподавателей высших учебных заведений в сервисах и инструментах для совместной работы в виртуальных классах. В первой главе исследования представлены теоретические основы сервисов и инструментов для совместной работы, в том числе их определение, цели, задачи, историю создания, а также рейтинг приложений для совместной работы и обзор наиболее популярных из них. Вторая глава включает в себя исследование, проведенное среди студентов и преподавателей российских ВУЗов с целью анализа дистанционной работы во время пандемии коронавируса и определения важных характеристик и типов приложений для совместной работы. Третья глава состоит из анализа рынка приложений для совместной работы, их сравнение и поиск наиболее соответствующих принципу «цена-качество» для составления пакета сервисов, которые могли бы быть внедрены в российские высшие учебные заведения. По итогам написания выпускной квалификационной работы предоставлены результаты анализа потребностей студентов и преподавателей российских ВУЗов в платформах для совместной работы в виртуальных классах, критерии выбора пакета инструментов в зависимости от задач, список инструментов, входящих в пакет с расчетом примерной стоимости, рекомендации по внедрению пакета сервисов для совместной работы в российские ВУЗы. Работа является актуальной для российских ВУЗов ввиду их обязательного перехода в дистанционный режим обучения из-за пандемии коронавируса в 2020 году.

The purpose of the research within the framework of the WRC is to identify the level of use and needs of students and teachers of higher educational institutions in services and tools for collaboration in virtual classrooms. The first chapter of the study presents the theoretical foundations of collaboration services and tools, including their definition, goals, tasks, history of creation, as well as the rating of collaboration applications and an overview of the most popular of them. The second chapter includes a study conducted among students and teachers of Russian universities to analyze remote work during the coronavirus pandemic and identify important characteristics and types of collaboration applications. The third chapter consists of the analysis of the market of applications for collaboration, their comparison and the search for the most appropriate to the principle of "price-quality" to compile a package of services that could be implemented in Russian higher education institutions. Based on the results of writing the final qualification work, the results of the analysis of the needs of students and teachers of Russian universities in platforms for collaboration in virtual classrooms, criteria for choosing a package of tools depending on the tasks, a list of tools included in the package with the calculation of the approximate cost, recommendations for the implementation of a package of services for collaboration in Russian universities are provided. The work is relevant for Russian universities due to their mandatory transition to distance learning due to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020.
