The analysis of urban growth in the Baltic region using remote sensing data and GIS technologies

Abstract

В данной работе показываются методы анализа роста городов Балтийского региона с применением ДЗЗ и ГИС-технологий. Расширение городов приводит к застройке новых территорий, уплотнению имеющихся земель, уничтожению зелёных насаждений, созданию островов тепла, которые сказываются в свою очередь на окружающей среде и местных жителях.

In this work shows methods for analyzing the urban growth in the Baltic region with remote sensing and GIS-technologies. The expansion of the city leads to development of new territories, the compaction of other lands, destruction of green spaces, creation of urban heat islands, which in turn affect the environment and local residents.
