Concept ‘Name’ in British English language and culture

Abstract

Работа посвящена исследованию своеобразия языковой репрезентации концепта NAME и выполнена на стыке лингвокультурологии и когнитивной лингвистики в рамках современной антропоориентированной парадигмы. Изучаются способы языковой репрезентации концепта NAME на материале корпуса текстов British National Corpus, текстов современной художественной литературы. Цель состоит в том, чтобы выявить и описать языковые репрезентации концепта NAME и определить основные представления о феномене NAME в сознании представителей британского социума. Использованы различные методы, такие как лексико-семантический анализ, дефиниционный анализ, контекстуальный анализ, сравнительно-сопоставительный анализ. Концепт NAME является важной и неотъемлемой составляющей британской лингвокультуры, а его изучение помогает в понимании когнитивных процессов.

The paper touches upon the issue of the linguistic representation of the concept of NAME and is carried out at the junction of cultural linguistics and cognitive linguistics within the framework of the contemporary anthropo-oriented paradigm. The methods of linguistic representation of the NAME concept are studied on the basis of the British National Corpus text corpus, the texts of modern fiction. The aim is to identify and describe the linguistic representations of the concept of NAME and to determine the basic representations of the phenomenon of NAME in the minds of representatives of British society. Various methods are used, such as lexical-semantic analysis, definitional analysis, contextual analysis, comparative analysis. The concept of NAME is an important and integral part of British linguistic culture, and its study contributes to understanding of cognitive processes.
