| ru_RU |
dc.description.abstract | This study is intended for considering phono-semantic means in phono-semantic units of Mongolian and English languages and proving omnitude of the sound symbolism phenomenon. The work discusses use of sound iconicity in Mongolian and English phraseological units. The purpose of the phono-semantic analysis is to consider emergence of sound iconicity and phono-semantic components in phraseological units of Mongolian and English languages and how these means are reflected in a translation. Phraseological units have been selected for studying phono-semantic components aspects of speech activity, as they are a step between the word and bigger units of the discourse (utterance and text). It is why minimum texts evidently show the phenomena of sound symbolism and sound iconicity of a speech segment and sound iconicity of a text. Phraseological units contrary to logical speech bear imagery and symbolism. Phraseology, the most specific part of the language, reflects both the cultural and historical experience of speakers and peculiarities of the historical laws of its evolution. The studies made confirm an universal nature of connection of certain acoustic articulation and semantic units and prove that sound iconicity has international incidence. | en_GB |
