Linguistic situation in the Arab world: A gender perspective

Abstract

Тема настоящей дипломной работы: «Гендерный аспект языковой ситуации в арабском мире». Целью работы является рассмотрение гендерных особенностей речи на примере арабского языка с учетом языковой ситуации в странах Магриба на разных языковых уровнях. В работе рассматривается становление и развитие гендерных исследований в лингвистике, дается краткий обзор имеющейся литературы по вопросам изучения гендерных особенностей речи в странах арабского мира. Кроме того, рассматриваются традиционные функции мужчины и женщины, которые отражены в тексте Корана, дается подробная характеристика современной языковой ситуации в странах Магриба и ее основных компонентов. Также в работе затрагиваются вопросы положения женщины в современном арабском обществе и гендерно-ролевой стереотипизации. Работа состоит из Введения, четырех глав и Заключения. К основному тексту прилагается список использованной литературы. Объём работы составляет 50 страниц.

The title of this thesis is “Linguistic situation in the Arab world: A gender perspective”. The aim of this thesis is to consider the gender features of speech in the context of the Arabic language, taking into account the language situation in the Maghreb countries at different language levels. The work examines the development of gender studies in linguistics, provides a brief overview of the available literature on gender linguistics in Arabic countries. In addition, the traditional functions of men and women are considered, which are reflected in the text of the Qur'an, and a detailed description of the modern language situation in the Maghreb countries and its main components is given. The work also touches upon the issues of the status of women in modern Arab society and gender-role stereotyping. This work consists of the Introduction, four chapters and the Conclusion. The main body is accompanied by a list of sources used in the text. The total number of pages is 50.
