The image of Judas and the theme of betrayal in Leonid Andreyev's story "Judas Iscariot"

Abstract

Данная работа посвящена изучению темы предательства в русской литературе, воплощенной в образе Иуды, ученика Иисуса Христа в Евангелии, и предавшего Учителя за тридцать серебренников, в результате чего с именем Иуды Искариота навечно связано понятие предательства. Мы рассмотрим образ Иуды на примере произведения «Иуда Искариот» (1907) Л. Н. Андреева. В данном исследовании предпринимается попытка проследить поэтапно мотивы поступка Иуды в повести Л. Н. Андреева, его образ, психологическое развитие в процессе совершения предательства. Целью исследования является то, чтобы выявить составляющие пункты образа Иуды и мотивы его предательства в произведении Л. Н. Андреева «Иуда Искариот». В нашей диссертации мы осветили тему предательства в русской литературе начала XX; выявили суть религиозно-философских взглядов Л. Н. Андреева; проанализировали концепцию образа Иуды в повести Л. Н. Андреева «Иуда Искариот». В заключение мы пришли к такому выводу: между Иудой и Л. Н. Андреевым существует немало сходств, и устами Иуды Л. Н. Андреев высказал свое сложное отношение к человечеству, свои размышления о Добре и Зле, о любви и ненависти, свое одиночество и, может быть, свое желание быть понятым.

This work is devoted to the topic of betrayal in Russian literature, embodied in the image of Judas, a disciple of Jesus Christ in the Gospel, and betrayed the Master for thirty pieces of silver, as a result of which the notion of betrayal is forever associated with the name of Judas Iscariot. We will consider the image of Judas on the example of the work "Judas Iscariot" (1907) by L N Andreeva. In this study, an attempt is made to trace in stages the motives of the action of Judas in the story of L N Andreev, his image, psychological development in the process of committing treachery. The aim of the study is to identify the constituent points of the image of Judas and the motives for his betrayal in the work of L N Andreev "Judas Iscariot". In our thesis, we highlighted the topic of betrayal in Russian literature of the early twentieth century; revealed the essence of the religious and philosophical views of L N Andreev; analyzed the concept of the image of Judas in LN Andreev's novel "Judas Iscariot". In conclusion, we came to the following conclusion: there are many similarities between Judas and L N Andreev, and by the lips of Judas L N Andreev expressed his complex attitude towards mankind, his reflections on Good and Evil, on love and hatred, on his loneliness and , maybe his desire to be understood.
