Strategies of expressing consent and refusal in modern Russian (in contrast to Serbian)

Abstract

Магистерская диссертация посвящена описанию языковых средств, оформляющих категории Согласие и Отказ в русском и сербском языках. В работе исследуется употребление данных форм речевого этикета, функционирующих в произведениях современной русской драматургии и их переводах на сербский язык. Представлена классификация ситуаций употребления изучаемых этикетных форм согласия и отказа и их эксплицитного и имплицитного функционирования, вербального и невербального употребления. Выявлены отличия в стратегии употребления исследуемых этикетных форм в русском и сербском языках и их лингвокультурная специфика.

The Master thesis is devoted to the description of linguistic means expressing consent and refusal in the Russian and Serbian languages. The paper focuses on the use of these forms of speech etiquette functioning in the works by modern Russian playwriters and in their translations into the Serbian language. Тhe classification of the use of the studied etiquette forms of consent and refusal is presented, and of their explicit and implicit functioning, verbal and non-verbal use. Differences in the strategy of using the studied etiquette forms in Russian and Serbian languages are revealed as well as their linguo-cultural specificity.
