Naming of public catering facilities of Saint Petersburg: Linguo-cultural aspect

Abstract

В работе рассматриваются наименования ресторанов и кафе Санкт-Петербурга в аспекте их социокультурной ценности. Устанавливается, что данные языковые единицы, входя в ономастическое пространство языка, являются лингвокультурными феноменами, отражающими многообразие историко-культурных знаний и ассоциаций. На основе принципов номинации, типов ассоциаций, типов мотивированности, способов их образования устанавливается, что данные наименования представляют все типы ценной для характеристики национальной языковой картины мира лексики, а также разрабатываются комментарии к основным типам наименований с привлечением лингвистической, энциклопедической, исторической информации и примеров употребления единиц в речи.

The work discusses the names of restaurants and cafes in St. Petersburg from the perspective of social - cultural values. This shows that the linguistic units into the onomastic space of the language, which is linguocultural phenomenon, reflecting the historical and cultural knowledge and the diversity of associations. Based on the principles of nomination, types of associations, the type of motivation, methods of their formation, it is established that these names represent all types of meaning, for characterizing the the portrayal of the world of national language. In addition, as well as comments on the main types of names with the use of linguistic, encyclopedic, historical information and examples of using units in speech.
