International aspects of the fight against terrorism in the Federal Republic of Nigeria

Abstract

Выпускная квалификационная работа посвящена изучению международных аспектов контртеррористической деятельности в Федеративной Республике Нигерия. Новизна данного исследования заключается во всестороннем охвате мер, осуществляемых внерегиональными и региональными участниками в области борьбы с терроризмом на территории нигерийского государства. Целью данного исследования является выявление проблем и перспектив в вопросах противостояния террористической угрозе в Нигерии путём изучения основных направлений сотрудничества в данном вопросе. В работе рассматриваются факторы, способствующие распространение терроризма на территории страны, анализируется деятельность наиболее характерных террористических группировок, представляющих угрозу международной безопасности. Также были освещены аспекты деятельности региональных организаций, затрагивающие борьбу с терроризмом, и практические меры государств, находящихся вне африканского континента. Рассмотрены вопросы применения военной силы, военно-технического сотрудничества, а также аспекты применения невоенных методов в области борьбы с терроризмом.

This graduation master paper is devoted to the study of international aspects of counter-terrorism activities in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The novelty of this study is to comprehensively cover the measures taken by non-regional and regional actors in the fight against terrorism in the territory of the Nigerian state. The object of this study is identification of problems and prospects in countering the terrorist threat in Nigeria by examining the main areas of cooperation in this matter. The paper examines the factors that contribute to the spread of terrorism in the country, analyzes the activities of the most characteristic terrorist groups that pose a threat to international security. Also, aspects of the activities of regional organizations affecting the fight against terrorism and the practical measures of states outside the African continent were highlighted. The issues of the use of military force, military-technical cooperation, as well as aspects of the use of non-military methods in the field of combating terrorism, are considered in detail.
