The Problem of the Crisis of Christianity in Postmodern Philosophy and Theology

Abstract

В диссертационном исследовании рассматриваются теоретические разработки постмодернистской философии и теологии по проблеме кризиса христианства в социокультурных условиях секулярного общества во второй половине ХХ века. В качестве введения в проблематику сделан краткий обзор ключевых концепций постмодернизма. В первой части работы представлен анализ взглядов философов-постмодернистов на проблему кризиса христианской теологии и европейской метафизики (Ж. Деррида, Ж. Делез). Во второй части исследования продемонстрировано формирование и развитие постмодернистской теологии, называемой также «деконструктивистской» или «а/теологией» (К. Рашке, М. Тейлор и другие), а также ее место в контексте эволюции идей протестантского теологического модернизма. Были сделаны выводы о том, что постмодернистский теологический проект представляет собой уникальное современное религиозно-философское течение, ориентированное на отказ от традиционной христианской теологии, «приватизацию» теологического дискурса и реализацию семиотического потенциала христианства в рамках «языковой игры».

The thesis reviews the theoretical elaborations of postmodern philosophy and theology on the problem of the crisis of Christianity in the socio-cultural conditions of secular society in the second half of the 20th century. A brief review of the key concepts of postmodernism is made as introduction to the problem. The first part of the paper presents an analysis of the views of postmodern philosophers on the problem of the crisis of Christian theology and European metaphisycs (J. Derrida, G. Deleuze). The second part of the paper demonstrates the formation and development of postmodern theology, also called “deconstructive” or “a/theology” (C. Raschke, M. Taylor and others), as well as its place in the context of the evolution of the ideas of Protestant theological modernism. The conclusion of the thesis is identification of postmodern theological project as contemporary religious and philosophical movement, focused on the rejection of traditional Christian theology, “privatization” of theological discourse and the implementation of the semiotic potential of Christianity in the framework of the “language game”.
