Germany's membership in the United Nations Security Council: Challenges and prospects

Необходимость реформы Организации Объединенных Нация является предметом дискуссий уже многие годы. Особое внимание в этом процессе уделяется реформе Совета Безопасности, а именно расширению числа его постоянных членов. Германия является одним из основных претендентов на получение статуса нового постоянного члена Совета Безопасности ООН. В данной исследовательской работе рассматриваются основные подходы к реформированию ООН, финансовый вклад Германии в работу Организации, а также участие в миротворческих операциях. Проведен анализ современной внешней политики Германии, а также ее позиции относительно реформы СБ ООН.

The master's thesis is devoted to the prospects of obtaining the status of a permanent member of the UN Security Council by Germany. The need for reform of the United Nations has been a subject of debate for many years. Particular attention is paid in this process to the reform of the Security Council, namely, the expansion of the number of its permanent members. Germany is one of the main contenders for obtaining the status of a new permanent member of the UN Security Council. This thesis explores the main approaches to UN reform, Germany's financial contribution to the work of the Organization, and participation in peacekeeping operations. An analysis of Germany's current foreign policy, as well as its position on the reform of the UN Security Council, has been carried out.
