Simulation model of American option

Abstract

В работе исследуется вопрос применимости метода квази Монте-Карло к задаче оценки стоимости Американских опционов с помощью моделирования. Объектами исследования являются квазислучайные последовательности Холтона и Соболя, применённые к методам случайных деревьев и наименьших квадратов. Также уделено внимание методу рандомизации квази Монте-Карло с помощью случайного сдвига. Предложен новый метод оценки стоимости Американских опционов, совмещающий идеи методов случайного дерева и наименьших квадратов для использования при числе моментов исполнения опциона m → ∞. Доказаны асимптотические состоятельность и несмещённость предлагаемой оценки.

The problem of Quasi-Monte Carlo applicability to the problem of pricing American options using simulation is studied in this thesis. Two low-discrepancy sequences, Halton and Sobol, are explored together with random tree and least squares option pricing methods. Randomized shifting technique is employed to estimate the variance of Quasi-Monte Carlo estimators. A new estimator, which is a combination of random trees and least squares, is provided, aiming to solve the problem of exponential time complexity of random tree method. The asymptotic consistency of the estimator is proven.
