Cruise tourism as a factor of social and economic development of regions: A case study of the North-West of the Russian Federation

Abstract

Выпускная квалификационная работа посвящена изучению круизного туризма, как фактору социально-экономического развития регионов. Показано, что круизный туризм - это один из наиболее популярных и быстрорастущих видов туризма на международном туристском рынке. Он обладает значительным инвестиционным потенциалом, постоянно возрастающим спросом и, соответственно, экономическим результатом, который достигается в этом виде туризма. В результате исследования установлено, что Северо-Западный Федеральный округ РФ обладает достаточными предпосылками для развития круизного туризма. В настоящее время, именно этот регион привлекает наибольшее число круизных туристов, однако до реализации всего потенциала еще далеко. Государственные программы развития туризма и рекреации должны способствовать дальнейшему развитию круизного туризма, что также способствует устойчивому социально-экономическому развитию местных территорий.

The Graduation qualification work is devoted to the study of cruise tourism as a factor of socio-economic development of regions. It is shown that cruise tourism is one of the most popular and fast-growing types of tourism on the international tourist market. It has a significant investment potential, constantly increasing demand and, accordingly, the economic result that is achieved in this kind of tourism. As a result of the research it was established that the North-West Federal District of the Russian Federation has sufficient prerequisites for the development of cruise tourism. Today, it is this region that attracts the largest number of cruise tourists, but it is still far from realizing the full potential. State programs for the development of tourism and recreation should contribute to the further development of cruise tourism, which also contributes to the sustainable social and economic development of local territories.
