The motif of kiss in Constantin Brâncuși's works and the specificity of the artistic language of the sculptor

Abstract

Работа посвящена творчеству французского скульптора XX века Константина Бранкузи. Исследование рассматривает проблемы формы, взаимодействие материалов и значение постамента в работах Бранкузи, отдельное внимание уделено мотиву «поцелуя» в творчестве скульптора. Цель работы объяснить творчество скульптора, выделить особенности его художественного языка, определить место его творчества в искусстве XX века. Задачи, которые помогут добиться поставленных целей – изучить биографию скульптора, описать ключевые работы автора, изучить и проанализировать литературу, связанную с темой исследования, изучить тенденции развития скульптуры в первой половины XX века, сделать соответсвующие выводы.

The work is dedicated to the art of French sculptor of XX century Constantin Brancusi. Research considers problems of form, the interaction of materials and meaning of pedestal in works of Brancusi, special attention is given to the motif of the ‘kiss’ in art of sculptor. The aim of the work is to explain the creativity of the sculptor, and highlight features of his artistic language, define his place in the art of XX century. Things, that can help to achieve these goals - to study the biography of the sculptor, describe the main sculptures of the author, study and analyze the literature related to the topic of the research, to examine trends in the development of sculpture in the first half of XX century, make appropriate conclusions.
