Using discrete optimization models to increase the loading efficiency of freight transport and containers for the Petro company

Abstract

В работе представлены теоретические и практические основы использования моделей дискретного программирования для решения логистических задач, и, в частности, задачи об оптимальной упаковке. Работа представляет из себя консультационный проект для компании ООО «Петро» и содержит описание компании, а также тех процессов, которые требуется усовершенствовать в рамках данного проекта. По итогам совместной работы с компанией было разработано программное средство, которое позволило компании значительным образом усовершенстовать процесс загрузки грузового транспорта и контейнеров. Благодаря данной разработке, компания получила значительные экономические и репутационные преимущества.

This graduation thesis includes theoretical and practical foundations of using discrete models for solving various practical tasks in logistics such as the bin packing problem. The paper is in the form of a consulting project for the OOO “Petro” company and includes a brief introduction to the company and the processes which must be refined. The result of the project is a solution based on Solver Add-in and Microsoft Excel which noticeably improves the truck and container loading process at the aforementioned company. Thanks to the solution developed, OOO “Petro” gained significant economic and social benefits.
