Abstract

Данная выпускная квалификационная работа посвящена исследованию деятельности американских и французских миссионеров в Сиаме в XIX в., а также изучению причин, по которым попытки миссионеров христианизировать сиамское общество не принесли должных результатов. Кроме того, в работе рассмотрены труды американских миссионеров о Королевстве в XIX в., проанализирован характер отношений американских авторов к Сиаму, его жителям, культуре и обществу. Данная выпускная квалификационная работа состоит из введения, 4 глав, заключения, списка источников и литературы. Объем выпускной квалификационной работы составляет 93 страницы.

This graduation thesis is devoted to the analysis of the activities of American and French missionaries in Siam in the 19th century. The main reasons of the ultimate failure of American and French missionaries to christianize and colonize the Kingdom of Siam have been especially analyzed by the author: total indifference of Thai people towards the Roman Catholic and Protestant propaganda, successful modernization of Siam and wise and efficient diplomacy of the Siamese kings Rama IV Mongkut and Rama V Chulalongkorn. In addition, the author pays particular attention to American published works of the time about the Kingdom in the 19th century, its local residents, culture and society. This graduation thesis consists of an introduction, 4 chapters, a conclusion, and a bibliography. The volume of this graduation thesis is 93 pages.
