Zheng Chenggong: His role in the history of China in the mid-17th century

Данное исследование является анализом деятельности Чжэн Чэнгуна, китайского купца, полководца и одного из крупнейших лидеров антицинской борьбы на юго-востоке Китая в середине XVII века. Одним из важнейших результатов его военных кампаний стало освобождение острова Тайвань от колонизаторов голландской Ост-Индской компании и учреждение там собственного государства Дуннин под формальным контролем последнего представителя династии Южная Мин на материке Чжу Юлана. Государство Дуннин продолжило существовать и после смерти Чжэн Чжэнгуна в 1662 г. под управлением его сына Чжэн Цзина и впоследствии внука Чжэн Кэшуана до окончательного слома антиманьчжурского сопротивления и установления на острове Тайвань власти династии Цин в 1683 г.

This research is an analysis the of activities of Zheng Chenggong, a Chinese merchant, general, and one of the most prominent leaders of the Qing-resistance movements in southeast China in the mid 17th Century. His military campaigns notably resulted in the liberation of the island of Taiwan from Dutch colonizers of the Dutch East India Company and the establishment of the Kingdom of Dongning under the formal control of the last Southern Ming Emperor Zhu Youlang, followed by Zhu Shugui, who acted as his representative and performed rites in his name after Zhu Youlang’s death. Even after Zheng Chenggong’s death in 1662, the Kingdom of Dongning continued to exist under the government of his son Zheng Jing and his grandson Zheng Keshuang, until the resistance movement was finally defeated in 1683 and the Qing dynasty established its reign over Taiwan.
