A hero in contemporary reportages: A comparative analysis of the Russky Reporter and Newsweek

Abstract

На рынке современной журналистики сегодня происходят сильные жанровые трансформации. К тому же, благодаря глобализации идёт взаимопроникновение различных журналистских традиций и концепций. В условиях высокой конкуренции и появления огромного количества новостных изданий у аудитории растёт потребность в качественной авторской журналистике, одной из ключевых особенностей которой является привлечение живых героев и их историй в тексты. Именно это обеспечивает актуальность нашего исследования, поскольку в эпоху глобальных перемен, социальных и политических конфликтов, обилия ложной и провокационной информации, аудитория ждёт настоящих историй, гарантами которых выступают реальные люди, герои. Научная новизна данной работы заключается в исследовании малоизученного феномена привлечения обычных людей в современные репортажи в качестве героев. В дальнейшем мы попытаемся провести анализ конкретных репортажей и определить собирательный образ героя на страницах журналов «Русский репортер» и Newsweek. Для исследования мы выбрали два журнала, ориентированные на свою аудиторию и привлекающие большое количество героев в свои репортажи. Это обусловливает актуальность анализа российского журнала «Русский репортёр» и американского журнала Newsweek. Объект данного исследования – журналы «Русский репортер» и Newsweek. Предмет данного исследования – изучение образа героя репортажей. Цель данной работы – найти и описать ключевой для каждого из изданий образ героя-современника с помощью анализа репортажей в журналах «Русский репортёр» и Newsweek. В связи с поставленной целью, были сформулированы следующие задачи: –поэтапно рассмотреть развитие жанра репортаж в российской и американской журналистике; –изучить теорию портретной журналистики, а также рассмотреть антропоцентричную проблематику в СМИ; –определить роль героя в современном репортаже; –проанализировать героев в структуре репортажей «Русского репортера» и Newsweek; –выявить общие черты, объединяющие всех персонажей журналистских материалов каждого из журналов; –сравнить героев российской и американской журналистики, определить общие и различные черты. Методологическая база исследования представлена контент-анализом, а также описательно-аналитическим методом, предусматривающим непосредственное изучение анализируемых явлений наряду с систематизацией наблюдаемых фактов. Эмпирическую базу данной исследовательской работы составили репортажи журналов «Русский репортер» и Newsweek, выходящие в печать с января 2016 года по март 2017 года Структура работы обусловлена предметом, целью и задачами исследования и состоит из введения, двух глав и заключения, в котором подводятся итоги проведенного исследования и формулируются главные выводы.

Today the market of modern journalism is characterized by strong genre transformations. In addition, thanks to globalization, there is an interpenetration of various journalistic traditions and concepts. In the conditions of strong competition and a huge number of news publications, the audience is growing the need for high-quality authorial journalism. One of the key features is the attraction of true heroes and their stories. And this is precisely what ensures the relevance of our research, because in the era of global changes, social and political conflicts, there are a huge amount of false and provocative information. And the audience is waiting for real stories, whose guarantors are real people, heroes. The scientific novelty of this work lies in the non-standard approach to the study of the experience of attracting ordinary people to modern reports that has been little studied by Russian and foreign researchers. For the research, we selected two journals aimed at their audience and attracting a huge number of heroes to their reports. This determines the relevance of the analysis of the Russian magazine "Russian reporter" and the American magazine Newsweek. Accordingly, the object of this study is the magazines "Russian Reporter" and Newsweek as creators of the image of a contemporary human for the readership. And the subject of this work is a detailed study of the character in the reportage. The goal is to find and describe the key for each of the editions of the image of the hero-contemporary using the analysis of reports in the magazines "Russian Reporter" and Newsweek. In connection with the goal, the following tasks were formulated: -together consider the development of the genre reportage in Russian and American journalism; -to study the theory of portrait journalism, as well as to consider anthropocentric issues in the media; -determine the role of the hero in the modern reportage; -analyze the heroes in the reportage structure of the "Russian Reporter" and Newsweek; -identify common features that unite all the characters of the journalistic materials of each journal; -compare the heroes of Russian and American journalism, identify common and different traits. The methodological base of the research is presented by content analysis, as well as by a descriptive-analytical method that provides for direct study of the analyzed phenomena along with the systematization of the observed facts. The empirical basis of this research work was the reporting of magazines "Russian Reporter" and Newsweek, going to print from January 2016 to March 2017 The structure of the work is determined by the subject, purpose and objectives of the study and consists of an introduction, two chapters and conclusion.
