Abstract

Despite its more than century-long history, contemporary political science is still a venue of fierce debates over the basic elements of its theoretical, methodological and politico-practical foundations that have been, as the author presents and substantiates in the article, the focus of attention of all the previous generations of political scientists. This provides the opportunity to interpret the history of the contemporary political science as a search for its identity. Refs 25.
