Maintainance of genus Mycobacterium representatives in water and fouling of aquariums supplied with closed water purification system

Abstract

На кафедре микробиологии СПбГУ на протяжении нескольких последних лет исследуется персистенция санитарно-показательных и условно-патогенных бактерий в водных системах с рециркуляцией санируемой воды на примере крупнотоннажных аквариумов Санкт-Петербургского Океанариума. Целью данной работы было выявление и оценка численности микобактерий в воде и обрастаниях пресноводного крупнотоннажного аквариума, выделение и идентификация новых штаммов микобактерий. Показано, что все выделенные виды микобактерий опасны для персонала и гидробионтов. Основным источником этих микобактерий являются обрастания, в которых микобактерии находятся в прикреплённом состоянии в составе биоплёнок, что делает их устойчивыми в отношении дезинфицирующих воздействии.

At the Department of Microbiology of St. Peterburg state University the past several years our group investigates the persisence of sanitary-indicative and pathogenic bacteria in water systems with recirculation of rehabilitated water on the example jf large aquariums of the St. Petersburg Oceanarium. The aim of this work was the identification and estimate of the number of mycobacteria in water and fouling of freshwater large aquarium, the isolation and identification of new strains of mycobacteria. It is shown that all the selected mycobacterial species are dangerous to personnel and aquatic organisms. The main source of these mycobacteria is fouling, in which mycobacterium are atteched as a part of biofilms, which makes them resistant against disinfectant influence.
