Магистерская диссертация посвящена исследованию монгольских версий буддийских сочинений о пользе чтения «Алмазной сутры». Целью данной выпускной квалификационной работы является анализ культа «Алмазной сутры», отраженный в монгольских сочинениях о пользе чтения «Алмазной сутры». Сутра «Ваджраччхедика» или «Алмазная сутра», одно из кратких праджняпарамитских сочинений, была составлена к IV в. н.э. Праджняпарамита - это класс махаянских сочинений о совершенной мудрости. Литература Праджняпарамиты получает свое развитие в Индии, Тибете, Китае и Монголии. «Ваджраччхедика» становится исключительно популярным текстом в Монголии. Распространению «Алмазной сутры» способствовало появление сборника небольших историй, посвященных разъяснению силы «Ваджраччхедики».

В первой главе магистерской диссертации дается описание генезиса сочинений о пользе «Алмазной сутры» в Китае, Тибете и Монголии. Для этого излагается история бытования «Алмазной сутры» в монгольской литературной традиции. В главе дается краткий обзор истории становления монгольского канона, и его редактирования, рассматриваются существующие переводы «Ваджраччхедика Праджняпарамиты» на монгольский язык, а также дается обзор существующих переводов и изданий сочинений о пользе чтения «Ваджраччхедики» на монгольском и тибетском языках. Приводится археографическое описание рукописей и ксилографов сочинений о пользе «Алмазной сутры», хранящихся в фонде рукописей и ксилографов в Восточном отделе Научной библиотеки СПбГУ, а также представленных в коллекции рукописей и ксилографов музея-квартиры Ц. Дамдинсурэна и в библиотеке Колумбийского университета в Нью-Йорке. Для этого устанавливается соотношение между различными версиями сочинений на монгольском и тибетском языках.

Во второй главе рассматривается структура сборника рассказов о пользе чтения «Алмазной сутры». Далее проводится анализ функциональных особенностей сборника рассказов о пользе «Алмазной сутры»: говорится о жанровых признаках, об архитектонике и фабульной структуре сочинения. Далее во второй главе рассматривается пространственно-временная организация сочинения, система персонажей и описывается культ «Алмазной сутры» в сочинениях о пользе чтения «Ваджраччхедики».

Сочинения о пользе «Алмазной сутры» посвящены культу и почитанию данного буддийского религиозного текста. В ходе проведенного исследования были сделаны следующие выводы: на уровне популярного буддизма в Монголии, «Алмазная сутра» приравнивается к божеству и наделяется магическими свойствами, способными отвратить различные несчастья. Авторы данных рассказов не ставили перед собой цель изложить доктринальные аспекты «Алмазной сутры», а скорее всего, стремились наглядно показать в каких жизненных ситуациях, может помочь данный буддийский текст, и какие методы нужны для актуализации всеспасительной силы сутры. В каждом рассказе о пользе «Ваджраччхедики» можно выделить следующую структуру культа «Алмазной сутры»: предмет культа, представленный сакральным текстом; форма культа, то есть ритуалы, связанные с обожествлением «Ваджраччхедики» и результат культа – «польза», которую обретают персонажи данных рассказов.

Annotation to the master's thesis entitled «Works on the Benefits of Reading the Diamond Sutra viewed in the context of the Mongolian religious tradition»

Master's thesis is dedicated to the research of the Mongolian versions of the Buddhist works on the Benefits of Reading the Diamond Sutra. The purpose of this graduation work is the analysis of the cult of «Diamond Sutra» which is reflected in the Writings on the Benefits of Reading the Diamond Sutra. Sutra «Vajracchedika» or «Diamond Sutra», one of the short works on the Prajnaparamita, was composed by the IV BC. «Prajnaparamita» is a class of Mahayana writings on the perfect wisdom. Literature «Prajnaparamita» gets its development in India, Tibet, China and Mongolia. «Vajracchedika» becomes an extremely popular text in Mongolia. The wide spread of the Diamond Sutra contributed to the creating of the collection of small stories dedicated to the explanation of the forces of the Vajracchedika.

The first chapter of the master's thesis describes the genesis of the writings about the benefits of the Diamond Sutra in China, Tibet and Mongolia. In addition, it is said about the history of existence of the Diamond Sutra in the Mongolian literary tradition. This chapter provides a brief review on the history of the formation and editing of the Mongolian Buddhist canon. Furthermore, it is said about existing translations of the Vajracchedika Prajnaparamita in the Mongolian language, as well as existing translations and editions of the works on the benefits of reading the Vajracchedika Prajnaparamita in Mongolian and Tibetan. We present archaeographic description of manuscripts and block-prints of works on the benefits of the Diamond Sutra, stored in the collection of manuscripts and block-prints in the east department of the Scientific Library of St. Petersburg State University, as well as presented in a collection of manuscripts and block-prints of the museum-apartment of Damdinsuren and Columbia University Library in New York City. In the second chapter it is examined the structure of the collection of stories about the benefits of reading the Diamond Sutra. For this reason, we bring into correlation the different versions of the works in Mongolian and Tibetan. Furthermore, it is analyzed the functional characteristics of a collection of stories on the benefits of the Diamond Sutra: the genre signs, architectonic and plot structure. Then in the second chapter it is examined the spatial and temporal organization of the works, the system of the characters and cult associated with the sutra Vajracchedika Prajnaparamita is described.

Works on the benefits of the Diamond Sutra are dedicated to the cult of worship of this Buddhist religious text. In the end of this research the following conclusions were made: on the level of popular Buddhism in Mongolia, the Diamond Sutra is equated with deity, and is endowed with magical powers, able to ward off a variety of misfortunes. The authors of these stories did not have the goal to present the doctrinal aspects of the Diamond Sutra, but rather to demonstrate in what situations this Buddhist text can help, and what methods are needed to actualize the all-saving powers of the sutra. In every story on the benefits of the Vajracchedika can be defined the following structure of the cult of the Diamond Sutra: the object of the cult represented by the sacred text; worship form, that is, the rituals associated with the deification of the Vajracchedika and the result of the cult – «benefit» that acquire characters of these stories.
