Slope stability assessment of the mine opening under the changing hydrodynamic conditions of underground water in Koashva deposit on the Kola peninsula

Abstract

Устойчивость бортов карьеров и отвалов является одним из основных вопросов при разработке месторождений полезных ископаемых открытым способом. Объектом исследования настоящей работы является Коашвинское месторождение апатит-нефелиновых руд, расположенное на Кольском полуострове. Крупный оползень произошел 08.08.1999 г. на восточном борту карьера и захватил три уступа в четвертичных породах, поэтому вопрос оценки устойчивости откоса на конец отработки месторождения является актуальным и необходимым для безопасного функционирования месторождения. Цель данной работы – оценить устойчивость откоса карьера при различной степени его обводненности, и определить уровень подземных вод, при котором разработка месторождения безопасна и экономически выгодна. В ходе работы были изучены физико-географические условия участка, геологическое и гидрогеологическое строение территории проведения работ, рассмотрены основные схемы расчета устойчивости откосов. На основе изученной информации были проведены расчеты коэффициента устойчивости при различных положениях уровней подземных вод. Полученные данные в дальнейшем могут быть использованы для расчета системы водопонижения на конец отработки месторождения.

Slope stability of the mining opening is one of the most important issues of conducting open development of mineral deposits. The research object is the Koashva deposit on the Kola Peninsula, generally represented by apatite-nepheline ores. Large landslide occurred on the east side of the quarry on August 8, 1999, on the three ledges, represented by Quaternary soils. Therefore, the issue of the slope stability on final stage of deposit development is relevant and necessary for providing efficiency and safety facility activity. The thesis is dedicated to slope stability assessment of quarry, depending on different degrees of water cutting, and determination of the groundwater table for safe and cost-effective deposit development. When writing the thesis, physical-geographical, geological and hydrogeological conditions of the study area were researched, the basic methods of definition of the slope stability were considered. After that coefficients of stability for different groundwater levels were determined. The results of the thesis can be used to calculate wellpoint system at the end of Koashva`s mining.
