The image of the main female character in the 20th century screen adaptations of the Korean folk tale "The Story of Chunhyang"

Abstract

Работа посвящена анализу трансформации образа главной героини традиционной корейской повести «Верная Чхунхян» в экранизациях XX века. Повесть «Верная Чхунхян» является одним из самых известных произведений корейской литературы, однако точная дата ее создания и автор неизвестны. Анализ образа героини Чхунхян в различных экранизациях поможет понять, как эта история была интерпретирована и представлена в современном контексте, а также выявить изменения и сходства в трактовке образа героини. Сравнение героини из оригинальной повести с воплощением образа на большом экране позволило выявить как сходства, так и отличия в характере, поведении и манерах Чхунхян. Анализ экранизаций XX века позволяет точнее понять трансформацию и интерпретацию этой любовной истории в современном контексте. Кроме того, сравнение образа Чхунхян из традиционного произведения с образами героинь из современных экранизаций способствует пониманию того, как изменяются (или остаются неизменными) представления о женском идеале верности в современном обществе.

The research is devoted to the analysis of the transformation of the image of the main character of the traditional Korean story "Faithful Chunhyang" in the film adaptations of the XX century. The story "Faithful Chunhyang" is one of the most famous works of Korean literature, but the exact date of its creation and the author are unknown. Analyzing the image of the character Chunhyang in various film adaptations will help to understand how this story was interpreted and presented in a modern context, as well as identify changes and similarities in the interpretation of the image of the female character. Comparing the heroine from the original story with the embodiment of the image on the screen revealed both similarities and differences in the nature, behavior and manners of Chunhyang. The analysis of the 20th century film adaptations allows to better understand the transformation and interpretation of this love story in a modern context. In addition, comparing the image of Chunhyang from a traditional work with the images of heroines from modern film adaptations helps to understand how ideas about the female ideal of fidelity change (or remain unchanged) in modern society.
